EU AND EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, NOVEMBER 2018

EURO AREA

In November 2018, the Euro Area (EA19) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world recorded a surplus of €19.0 billion.

  • Euro Area (EA19) export values decreased €3.8 billion (1.9 per cent) to €203.0 billion compared to November 2017.
  • Euro Area (EA19) import values decreased €8.3 billion (4.7 per cent) to €184.0 billion compared to November 2017.
  • In November 2018, it was also reported that intra-euro area trade increased 1.5 per cent to €170.5 billion compared to November 2017.

 

In November 2018, the Euro Area (EA19) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with Canada recorded a surplus of €1.1 billion.

In November 2018, the Euro Area (EA19) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the United States recorded a surplus of €11.5 billion.

 

EUROPEAN UNION

In November 2018, the European Union (EU28) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world recorded a deficit of €3.2 billion.

  • European Union (EU28) export values increased €4.3 billion (2.6 per cent) to €172.7 billion compared to November 2017.
  • European Union (EU28) import values increased €12.5 billion (7.6 per cent) to €175.9 billion compared to November 2017.
  • In November 2018, it was also reported that intra-EU28 trade increased 2.5 per cent to €313.1 billion compared to November 2017.

In November 2018, the European Union (EU28) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with Canada recorded a surplus of €0.5 billion.

In November 2018, the European Union (EU28) goods trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the United States recorded a surplus of €13.1 billion.
