December 11, 2018UK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, AUGUST TO OCTOBER 2018 
The UK Office for National Statistics reported today that the unemployment rate for the three-month period August to October 2018 was 4.1 per cent, level with the previous three month period. This is down from the rate of 4.3 per cent reported for the same months a year ago.
There were 1.38 million unemployed people, 20,000 more than for May to July 2018, but 49,000 fewer than for a year earlier.
Employment was at 32.48 million, 79,000 more than compared with May to July 2018, and 396,000 more than for a year earlier.
