JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNT AND TRADE BALANCE, OCTOBER 2018

Current Account

 

 

In October 2018, Japan reported

  • the Net international trade (goods and services) deficit increased 20 billion yen to 237 billion yen,
  • primary income surplus decreased 51 billion yen to 1,643 billion yen and
  • secondary income (transfers) deficit increased 51 billion yen to 195 billion yen.

As a result, the current account surplus decreased 123 billion yen to 1,211 billion yen over September 2018.

 

Trade Balance

In October 2018, Japan 's

  • goods exports increased 375 billion yen to 7,005 billion yen,
  • goods imports increased 410 billion yen to 7,199 billion yen,
  • As a result, net international goods trade deficit increased 35 billion yen to 194 billion yen, over September 2018.
  • Net international services trade deficit decreased 14 billion yen to 43 billion yen, over September 2018.

As a result, Net international trade (goods and services) deficit increased 20 billion yen to 237 billion yen, over September 2018
