CANADA'S BALANCE OF INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS 2018Q3

3rd Quarter

 

In Canada Q3 2018, the seasonally adjusted current account deficit decreased $6.3 billion to $10.3 billion over Q2 2018.

                                                                     

In Q3 2018,

  • exports (receipts) goods and services increased $3.5 billion to $181.6 billion, while imports (payments) goods and services decreased $1.1 billion to $189.6 billion. The resulting international goods and services trade deficit decreased $4.6 billion to $8.0 billion over Q2 2018.
  • primary income receipts increased $2.1 billion to $34.0 billion, while primary income payments increased $484 million to $35.7 billion. The resulting international primary income trade deficit decreased $1.6 billion to $1.7 billion over Q2 2018.
  • secondary income receipts decreased $88 million to $3.3 billion, while secondary income payments decreased $170 million to $3.9 billion. The resulting international secondary income trade deficit decreased $82 million to $0.6 billion over Q2 2018.
  • with the international goods and services trade deficit decreasing ($4.6 billion); the international primary income trade deficit decreasing ($1.6 billion); the international secondary income trade deficit decreasing ($82 million); the seasonally adjusted current account deficit decreased $6.3 billion to $10.3 billion.
