JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNT AND TRADE BALANCE, JULY 2018

Current Account

In Japan July 2018, the current account decreased 278 billion yen over June 2018; resulting in a surplus of 1,485 billion yen.
 

 

In July 2018, Japan reported

  • a net international trade (goods and services) surplus of 82 billion yen,
  • a primary income surplus of 1,607 billion yen,
  • and a secondary income (transfers) deficit of 205 billion yen.

 

Trade Balance

In July 2018, Japan 's

  • Net international trade (goods and services) increased 3 billion yen over June 2018; resulting in a surplus of 82 billion yen.
  • Goods exports increased 119 billion yen to 6,883 billion yen, goods imports increased 206 billion yen to 6,725 billion yen, net international goods trade decreased 87 billion yen over June 2018; resulting in a surplus of 158 billion yen.
  • Net international services trade increased 90 billion yen over June 2018; resulting in a deficit of 75 billion yen.
