CANADA'S BALANCE OF INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS 2018Q2

 2nd Quarter

 

In Canada Q2 2018, the seasonally adjusted current account deficit decreased $1.6 billion to  $15.9 billion over Q1 2018.

                                                                     

In Q2 2018,

  • exports (receipts) goods and services increased $8,236 million to $177.5 billion, while imports (payments) goods and services increased $6,076 million to $189.8 billion over Q1 2018. The resulting international goods and services trade deficit decreased $2,159 million to $12.3 billion over Q1 2018.
  • primary income receipts increased $1,902 million to $33.0 billion over Q12018. while primary income payments increased $2,197 million to $35.9 billion over Q12018. The resulting international primary income trade deficit increased $295 million to $2.8 billion over Q12018.
  • secondary income receipts increased $17 million to $3.4 billion over Q12018. while secondary income payments increased $281 million to $4.2 billion over Q12018. The resulting international secondary income trade deficit increased $263 million to $0.7 billion over Q12018.
  • with the international goods and services trade deficit decreasing ($2,159 million); the international primary income trade deficit increasing ($295 million);  the international secondary income trade deficit increasing ($263 million);  the seasonally adjusted current account deficit decreased $1,600 million to $15.9 billion.
