NEW MOTOR VEHICLE SALES, JANUARY-JUNE 2018

Year-to-date

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jun 2018, New Motor Vehicles Unit Sales decreased 6.3% over Jan-Jun 2017. The 28,095 new motor vehicles sold in Jan-Jun 2018 represent a sales value of $1,005.1 million, down 6.1% over Jan-Jun 2017.

In Canada Jan-Jun 2018, New Motor Vehicles Unit Sales increased 0.2% over Jan-Jun 2017. The 1,058,893 new motor vehicles sold in Jan-Jun 2018 represent a sales value of $44.2 billion, up 5.5% over Jan-Jun 2017.

 

Country of Manufacture

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jun 2018,

• North American manufactured new motor vehicles Unit Sales decreased 11.2% (74.6% share) over Jan-Jun 2017.
• North American manufactured new motor vehicles Sales Value decreased 10.4% (77.2% share) over Jan-Jun 2017.

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jun 2018,

• the New Motor Vehicles manufactured in other countries Unit Sales increased 11.9% (22.8% share) over Jan-Jun 2017.
• the New Motor Vehicles manufactured in other countries Sales Value increased 12.2% (25.4% share) over Jan-Jun 2017.

 

Passenger Cars and Trucks

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jun 2018,

• passenger car Unit Sales decreased 7.4% (35.2% share) to 9,879 units over Jan-Jun 2017.
• passenger car Sales Value decreased 6.9% (26.0% share) to $261 million over Jan-Jun 2017

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jun 2018,

• truck Unit Sales decreased 5.7% (64.8% share) to 18,216 units over Jan-Jun 2017.
• truck Sales Value decreased 5.8% (74.0% share) to $744 million over Jan-Jun 2017.

Average Prices

In Nova Scotia Jan-Jun 2018,

• the new motor vehicles average price increased 0.2% to $35,776 over Jan-Jun 2017.
• the passenger car average price increased 0.5% to $26,463 over Jan-Jun 2017.
• the truck average price decreased 0.2% to $40,827 over Jan-Jun 2017.

 

In Canada Jan-Jun 2018, the new motor vehicles average price increased 5.3% to $41,762 over Jan-Jun 2017.
