May 15, 2018UK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, JANUARY TO MARCH 2018 
The UK Office for National Statistics reported today that the unemployment rate for the three-month period January to March 2018 was 4.2 per cent. This is down from the rate of 4.6 per cent reported for the same months a year ago.
There were 1.42 million unemployed people, 46,000 fewer than the period October to December 2017, and 116,000 fewer than for a year earlier.
Employment was at 32.34 million, 197,000 more than in October to December 2017, and 396,000 more than for a year earlier.
