UK RETAIL SALES, FEBRUARY 2018

The UK Office for National Statistics reports that UK retail sales for February were up 0.8 per cent in both value and volume terms.  UK retail sales had declined in each of the previous two months.  

Year-over-year UK retail sales values were 3.9 per cent higher in February 2018 than they were in February 2017.  UK retail sales volumes are up 1.5 per cent in real terms year-over-year after accounting for price increases.  Through the first two months of 2018, UK retail sales values are up 4.1 per cent compared with the same months of 2017 while retail sales volumes were up 1.5 per cent.
