PROVINCIAL AND TERRITORIAL CULTURE INDICATORS, 2016

Statistics Canada has released indicators of Canada's culture and sport activities for the period 2010-2016. 

Nova Scotia’s GDP of culture industries grew 0.7 per cent in 2016 to $874 million while GDP from sport activities increased 3.9 per cent to $151 million.  

Employment in the culture industries in 2016 was 13,719 while employment in sport activities was 2,760.

With this release, Statistics Canada also revised their estimates of the 2010-2014 indicators. In general, the sport activity indicators were revised upward and the culture indicators were revised downward.
