UK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, OCTOBER TO DECEMBER 2017

The UK Office for National Statistics reported today that the unemployment rate for the three-month period October to December 2017 was 4.4 per cent. This is down from the rate of 4.8 per cent reported for the same months a year ago. 

There were 1.47 million unemployed people, 46,000 more than the period July-September 2017, and 123,000 fewer than for a year earlier.

Employment was at 32.15 million, 88,000 more than in July-September 2017, and 321,000 more than for a year earlier.
