February 14, 2018EU AND EURO AREA GDP, Q4 2017 [PRELIMINARY]
Real GDP rose by 2.4 per cent (seasonally adjusted annualized rate) in both the euro area (EA19) and the European Union (EU28) during the fourth quarter of 2017, an upward revision compared to the flash estimate of 2.3 per cent for both zones. Last quarter, EA19 GDP was up 2.9 per cent and EU28 GDP grew 2.7 per cent on an annualized basis. Comparing Q4 2017 with Q4 2016, seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 2.7 per cent and 2.6 per cent the euro area the EU28 respectively.
The preliminary estimates for GDP growth in 2017 are 2.5 per cent in both the EA19 and EU28.
