January 25, 2018UK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER 2017 
The UK Office for National Statistics reported today that the unemployment rate for the three-month period Sept 2017 to Nov 2017 was 4.3 per cent. This is down from the rate of 4.8 per cent reported for the same months a year ago. The lowest UK unemployment rate since 1975.
There were 1.44 million unemployed people, little changed from June-Aug 2017, and 160,000 fewer than for a year earlier.
Employment was at 32.21 million, 102,000 more than in June-Aug 2017, and 415,000 more than for a year earlier.
