September 15, 2017EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, JULY 2017 In July 2017, the euro area (EA19) recorded a €23.2 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world. The first estimate for EA19 exports of goods reported an increase of 6.1 per cent to €177.7 billion over July 2016. Imports increased 8.2 per cent to €154.6 bn over July 2016.
It was also reported that intra-euro area trade increased 5.6 per cent to €145.6 bn over July 2016.
In July 2017, the European Union (EU28) recorded a €8.8 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world. The first estimate for EU28 exports of goods reported an increase of 9.7 per cent to €155.8 billion over July 2016. Imports increased 5.6 per cent to €146.9 bn over July 2016.
It was also reported that intra-EU28 area trade increased 5.3 per cent to €260.3 bn over July 2016.

In January-July 2017, the European Union (EU28) recorded a €67.8 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with the United States. The first estimate for EU28 exports of goods to the US reported a increase of 4.3 per cent to €219.6 billion over Jan-Jul 2016. Imports increased 4.1 per cent to €151.8 bn over Jan-Jul 2016.
In January-July 2017, the European Union (EU28) recorded a €3.7 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with Canada. The first estimate for EU28 exports of goods to Canada reported a increase of 9.8 per cent to €22.2 billion over Jan-Jul 2016. Imports increased 13.2 per cent to €18.5 bn over Jan-Jul 2016.
