EU AND EURO AREA GDP, Q2 2017 [FLASH]

Real GDP rose by 2.4 per cent (seasonally adjusted annualized rate) in the European Union (EU28) during the second quarter of 2017, an increase from the 2.0 per cent increase in Q1 2017. The Euro Area (EA19) real GDP grew 2.3 per cent, an increase from the 2.0 per cent pace in Q1. Both the EU28 and EA19 have had growth of at least 2.0 per cent for the past three quarters.

Comparing Q2 2017 with Q2 2016, seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 2.1 per cent in the euro area and by 2.2 per cent in the EU28, after gains of 1.9 per cent and 2.1 per cent, respectively, in the previous quarter.
