Age Tax Credit

The Age Tax Credit reduces eligible applicants' personal income taxes by:

• $1000 for 2014 and subsequent years

Eligibility
To receive the credit for the 2014 tax year, you must meet the following requirements:

• you must be a resident of Nova Scotia on December 31, 2014;
• you must attain the age of sixty-five years on or before December 31st of the taxation year; and
• your taxable income from line 260 of your return must be less than $24,000.
  

How to Apply
Eligible individuals can claim the tax credit on line 79 of the NS 428 Form.
