Direct Deposit

Thousands of Nova Scotians, individuals and companies, receive cheques from the provincial government each month. Cheques can include payment for services or income assistance.

The most convenient way to ensure prompt receipt of payment is by signing up for direct deposit. Through direct deposit, funds will be automatically deposited into your account – there's no cheque to pick up at the mail box, no trip to the bank. You can even receive e-mail notification that funds have been deposited.

If you receive Income Assistance, please talk to your case worker about how you can enroll in direct deposit.

Please fill out the form below:

Please note: Some government programs, including the home heating rebate and seniors' GIS tax rebate, are not yet eligible for direct deposit.
If you have any questions, please call (902) 424-5998 or email
