FINANCE--Minister Accepts Resignation of Gaming Corporation Chair
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Finance Minister Bill Gillis has accepted the resignation of
Ralph Fiske as chair of the Nova Scotia Gaming Corp.

"I have personally thanked Mr. Fiske for three years of service
on behalf of the people of Nova Scotia," said Dr. Gillis. "Mr.
Fiske has served the province well in this most challenging
position, during the most difficult stages of developing casinos
in Halifax and Sydney."

A decision on Mr. Fiske's replacement will be made shortly, said
the minister.

The Nova Scotia Gaming Corp., established in February 1995,
manages casinos and lotteries for the province.
