EDUCATION/CULTURE--FEDERATION MOVES TO HALIFAX
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The Nova Scotia Federation of Home and School Associations has
taken up residence in Halifax.

The association, formerly located at the Nova Scotia Teachers
College, Truro, shares its new home with the Department of
Education and Culture's provincial library and learning resources
and technology divisions, at 3770 Kempt Road.

"We are pleased to have this education partner nearby, to help
further our shared goal of involving parents in our schools,"
said Education and Culture Minister Robbie Harrison.

The Home and school offices are open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Monday to Friday.

"Our new Halifax location allows our locals to communicate their
concerns and questions, and receive immediate responses by fax,
telephone or computer," said federation President Sandra
Himmelman. "We are also better positioned to communicate with all
other education partners in Nova Scotia, giving us a stronger
voice in decision making."
