of the Nova Scotia Community College, designed to train Nova
Scotians for an expanding sector of the economy, will be
officially opened Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 10:30 a.m.

The college developed the state-of-the-art facility in

industry and as a key component to attract call centre
business and investment to the province.

training and has introduced a core training program in call
centre management with 18 students currently enrolled.

Allister Thorne, principal of the Halifax Campuses, said the
opening highlights the strategic alliance between the
Halifax Campuses and MT&T and their joint response to the
needs of the call centre industry in Nova Scotia. "It also
demonstrates the strong linkage between the College and the
business community, and the training support we can provide
  organizations of all sizes."

Among the officials participating in the ceremony will be
Education and Culture Minister John MacEachern, Economic
Renewal Minister Robbie Harrison, Denis Connor, MT&T
  vice-president marketing, and John Keating,

committee of industry professionals who will provide advice
on curriculum content and related program requirements.
