Agencies, Boards and Commissions (ABCs)
Serving on one of Nova Scotia's many ABCs can help you grow personally and professionally while making a real impact on your community.
ABCs are created by government to provide advice and services in different areas, including health, policing, agriculture, education, culture, environment, transportation, labour, professional regulation, and more.
They include advisory committees, corporate boards, and adjudicative (quasi-judicial) bodies.
All Nova Scotia residents are invited to apply.

How to choose which ABC to apply to?
ABC Profiles give more information about each ABC, including how often they meet, selection criteria, and any payments members receive.
Review the profile of different ABCs and consider applying to one that sounds interesting to you.
The Government of Nova Scotia encourages people from diverse communities to apply. Applicants are invited to self-identify in their application.
When to apply?
Applications to ABCs are accepted throughout the year. Advertisement campaigns are held in the spring and fall of each year to boost awareness of current opportunities.
The Fall 2026 Campaign will begin 12 September 2026 and the deadline to receive applications is 20 October 2026.
