Lochiel Lake Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

as amended to O.I.C. 92-138 (February 11, 1992), N.S. Reg. 51/92


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 20th day of January, A.D. 1975, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia and situate at or near Two Mile [Lochiel] Lake, in the County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

                (b)    declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Lochiel Lake Provincial Park”.

Schedule “A”

Lochiel Lake Provincial Park


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Two Mile [Lochiel] Lake, County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia as is shown on plan No. E-5-36A, recorded in the Crown Land Registry office, Halifax, being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at a Crown Land Iron Post (C.L.I.P.) marked 3798 set on the northwestern boundary of Highway No. 7 and the most eastern corner of lands owned by the Crown;


Thence north seventy-one degrees twenty-six minutes west (N 71° 26' W) along the northern boundary of said lands owned by the Crown distant one hundred forty-six decimal seventy-two (146.72) feet to a C.L.I.P. marked 3797 set on the mean high water mark of Two Mile [Lochiel] Lake;


Thence northeasterly, easterly, northerly and northeasterly following the mean high water mark of Two Mile [Lochiel] Lake and the northwestern boundary of said Highway No. 7 distant two thousand two hundred (2200) feet more or less to a C.L.I.P. marked 8427 set on the southwestern boundary of lands now or formerly owned by the G. Eddy Co.;


Thence south fifty-four degrees fifty-seven minutes east (S 54° 57' E) along the southwestern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by the G. Eddy Co. distant ninety-seven decimal eighty-six (97.86) feet to a C.L.I.P. marked 8428 set on the northwestern boundary of said Highway No. 7;


Thence south thirty-nine degrees thirty-eight minutes west (S 39° 38' W) along the northwestern boundary of said Highway No. 7 distant one thousand five hundred thirty-one decimal ten (1531.10) feet to the place of beginning.


The above bearings are magnetic of the year 1950. The above described lands containing an area of nine (9) acres more or less.
