Israels Cove Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 79-873 (July 17, 1979), N.S. Reg. 125/79


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 28th day of May, A.D., 1979, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Israels Cove Beach, in the County of Digby, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-11-23 marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.



Schedule “A”


All that certain lot of land situated on the western shore of Petit Passage at Tiverton, Digby County, shown outlined on a plan of survey of Israels Cove Beach, signed by Lee Johnston, Nova Scotia Land Surveyor, on March 28, 1979, filed in the office of the Director of Surveys, Department of Lands and Forests, as Field Plot P-024/79 and more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at a survey marker placed at the mean high watermark of Israels Cove at the northeastern corner of Hilton Sollows fish house, the said marker being distant 49.36 feet in a northwesterly direction from a transit station identified as Hub A, from which station a reference angle of 261° 13' 24" was measured in a clockwise direction from the centreline of the East Ferry United Baptist Church steeple to the said survey marker and from which a second reference angle of 299° 27' 23" was measured in a clockwise direction from the centreline of the first transmission tower on Long Island Petit Passage to the said survey marker;


Thence in a southeasterly direction following the mean high watermark of Israels Cove, a distance of approximately 70 feet to a survey marker placed at the western face of a breakwater, also being distant 69.10 feet in a straight line from the place of beginning and approximately 7 feet from the southwestern corner of the breakwater;


Thence in a southwesterly direction along the western face of the breakwater and the southerly prolongation thereof, a distance of 40 feet;

 

Thence in a northwesterly direction, 40 feet distant from and parallel to the said mean high watermark, a distance of approximately 96 feet to a point on the southwesterly prolongation of the southeastern face of Hilton Sollows fish house at a distance of 43 feet from the first mentioned survey marker;


Thence in a northeasterly direction along the said prolongation and the southeastern face of Hilton Sollows fish house, a distance of 43 feet to the place of beginning.
