Wentworth Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 72-579 (June 1, 1972), N.S. Reg. 130/72


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 29th day of May, A.D., 1972 pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her. Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia and situate at Wentworth, in the County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a provincial park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands described in Schedule “A” attached to the report and recommendation, and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked Schedule “B” also attached to the report and recommendation, and

 

                (b)    declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Wentworth Provincial Park”

Wentworth Provincial Park


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate, lying or being at Wentworth, County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia, shown on plan E-5-18 on file at the Crown Land Registry Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Crown land iron post No. 659 situated at the intersection of the westerly boundary of Highway 104 with the northerly boundary of Valley Road;


From thence (by magnetic bearings 1959) north eighty-eight degrees zero minutes thirty-four seconds west, two hundred ninety-eight decimal zero four feet along the northerly boundary of Valley Road;


Thence continuing along the northerly boundary of Valley Road north eighty-four degrees thirty-one minutes fifteen seconds west, two hundred four decimal ninety feet to Crown Land iron post No. 658;


Thence north five degrees twenty-nine minutes thirty-four seconds east, one hundred thirty-four decimal twenty-five feet to Crown Land iron post No. 655;


Thence north eighty-three degrees twenty-six minutes twenty-six seconds west, one hundred thirty-nine decimal fifty feet to Crown Land iron post No. 656;


Thence south five degrees forty minutes thirty-seven seconds west, one hundred thirty-six decimal eighty-eight feet to Crown Land iron post No. 657 on the northerly boundary of Valley Road;


Thence along the northerly boundary of Valley Road, north eighty-four degrees thirty-one minutes fifteen seconds west, one thousand five hundred forty-five decimal sixty-two feet to Crown Land iron post No. 673;


Thence north one degree thirty-six minutes fifty-seven seconds west, six hundred sixty-five decimal sixty-five feet to Crown Land iron post No. 732A;


Thence north eighty-five degrees twenty-four minutes fifty-nine seconds west, four hundred twenty decimal zero three feet to Crown Land iron post No. 673A;


Thence north eighty-one degrees fifty-eight minutes forty-five seconds west, four hundred sixty-two decimal thirty-eight feet to Crown Land iron post No. 672A;


Thence north forty-nine degrees forty-five minutes zero seconds west, one hundred three decimal eighty feet to Crown Land iron post No. C717;


Thence north thirty-eight degrees, thirty-one minutes twenty-one seconds west, seventy-seven decimal forty-eight feet to Crown Land iron post No. C718;


Thence north three degrees fifty-seven minutes thirty-five seconds east, three decimal ninety-seven feet to point “B”;


Thence north eighty-five degrees thirty-one minutes forty-three seconds west, one thousand two hundred eighty-four decimal zero two feet to point “C”;


Thence north sixty degrees forty-one minutes zero seconds west, five hundred fifty-three decimal seventeen feet to point “D”;

Thence north eighty-six degrees twelve minutes forty-nine seconds west, three hundred forty-seven decimal fifty-one feet to point “F”;


Thence north seventy-three degrees fifty-three minutes thirty-three seconds west, ninety-three decimal forty-one feet to point “G”;


Thence north eighty-nine degrees twenty-one minutes nine seconds west, four hundred sixty-four decimal ninety-nine feet to Crown Land iron post No. 671;


Thence north thirty-five degrees forty-five minutes sixteen seconds east, one thousand five decimal forty-eight feet to Crown Land iron post No. 670;


Thence south eighty-four degrees eighteen minutes forty-six seconds east, six thousand two hundred six decimal thirty-seven feet to Crown Land iron post No. 669 situated at or near the southerly edge of Giles Brook so-called;


Thence northeasterly along the southerly edge of Giles Brook to Crown Land iron post No. 668, being north seventy-five degrees forty-nine minutes forty-two seconds east, one thousand three hundred ninety-five decimal twenty-four feet from the aforementioned Crown Land iron post No. 669;


Thence continuing easterly along the southerly edge of Giles Brook, and then southerly along the westerly edge of the Wallace River, so-called, to Crown Land iron post No. 666, being south twenty-three degrees nine minutes fifty-six seconds east, five hundred eighty-four decimal sixty-seven feet from aforementioned Crown Land iron post No. 668;


Thence continuing southerly along the westerly edge of Wallace River to Crown Land iron post No. 665 situated near the said westerly edge of Wallace River, being south three degrees fifty minutes thirty-four seconds east, three hundred sixty-one decimal thirty feet from aforementioned Crown Land iron post No. 666;


Thence south forty-four degrees eight minutes forty-five seconds east, seventy-three decimal zero five feet across the Wallace River to Crown Land iron post No. 664 situated on the westerly boundary of Highway No. 104;


Thence along the westerly boundary of Highway Number 104, south forty-four degrees thirty-four minutes thirty-eight seconds west, two hundred eighty-nine decimal forty-one feet to point “H”;


Thence continuing along the westerly edge of Highway Number 104, south forty degrees forty-four minutes twenty-one seconds west, one thousand four hundred eight decimal fifty-three feet to the place of beginning containing 243 acres more or less.


Excepting and reserving from the above described lands any grants of right-of-way or easement for public utilities and any portion of the old highway passing across the above described lands.


Reserving also from the above described 1and that certain lot conveyed to the Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Company Limited from Thomas W. Lynds and wife by deed dated November 4th, 1955 and recorded in the Registry of Deeds at Amherst in Book 216, page 76, under Number 1142, being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Crown Land iron post No. 660 situated on the easterly boundary of the old Highway Number 4;


Thence (by magnetic bearings 1959) south fifty-one degrees twenty minutes east, forty-nine decimal fifty feet to Crown Land iron post No. 661;


Thence north thirty-eight degrees forty minutes east, twenty-five decimal zero eight feet to Crown Land iron post No. 662;


Thence north fifty-one degrees twenty minutes west, forty-nine decimal fifty feet to Crown Land iron post No. 663;


Thence south thirty-eight degrees forty minutes west twenty-five decimal zero eight feet to the place of beginning.
