Exemption from Registration of Certain Vehicles

of the Department of Transportation and Public Works Regulations

made under subsection 25(1) of the

Motor Vehicle Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 293

O.I.C. 76-1061 (effective April 1, 1977), N.S. Reg. 82/76


Pursuant to Section 25 of the Motor Vehicle Act, the following types of vehicles are exempt from registration provided that the vehicles:

 

                (a)    are used exclusively for Department of Transportation and Public Works purposes;

 

                (b)    are painted Department of Transportation and Public Works yellow;

 

                (c)    display a Department of Transportation and Public Works machine identification number:


                            Asphalt plants                      Motor graders

                            Asphalt spreaders                Mowers

                            Bulldozers                           Mulchers

                            Bush chippers                      Pull graders

                            Chip spreaders                     Rollers

                            Compressors                        Rubber-tired loaders

                            Concrete mixers                  Scales

                            Conveyors                           Sweepers

                            Crushers                              Tank car heaters

                            Utility tractors                     Tar kettles

                            Hydro-seeders                     Welders

                            Industrial tractors                Other similar units being used

                            Mixalls                                for maintenance purposes
