MacCormacks Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

as amended to O.I.C. 2005-473 (October 27, 2005), N.S. Reg. 211/2005


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 1st day of June, A.D., 1990, pursuant to subsection (1) of Section 5 of Chapter 32 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Beaches Act, is pleased to determine as a beach, within the meaning of the Beaches Act, an area of land situate at Eastern Passage, in the County of Halifax, lying landward from the mean high watermark, the said land being shown outlined in bold line on the copy of Provincial Crown Lands Record Centre Plan No. E-15-29 marked Schedule “B”, and described in Schedule “A”, both Schedules being attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.



Schedule “A”


All and singular that certain lot, piece, or parcel of land situate, lying, and being at MacCormacks Beach, Eastern Passage, in the County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia shown on a compiled plan showing MacCormacks Beach (Field Plot No. P-083/90), dated March 7, 1990, and filed in the Provincial Crown Lands Records Centre, Dartmouth, N.S. as C.L.R. E-15-19, the said lot of land being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Survey Marker 4938 situate on the southwestern boundary of Highway No. 322, said Survey Marker 4938 being S 50° 26' 29" E, a distance of 315.66 feet from Nova Scotia Coordinate Monument 4345;


Thence S 39° 18' 45" W, a distance of 10 feet to the mean high watermark of Eastern Passage;


Thence westerly, northwesterly, easterly and northerly along the various courses of the mean high watermark of Eastern Passage a distance of 2710 feet more or less to a wooden post;


Thence S 57° 41' 14" E, a distance of 57.50 feet to a concrete monument, said concrete monument being on the southwestern boundary of Highway No. 322;


Thence along the southwestern boundary of Highway No. 322 S 32° 20' 17" E, a distance of 231.30 feet to iron post 4934;


Thence along the southwestern boundary of Highway No. 322 S 35° 04' 30" E, a distance of 279.16 feet to iron post 4937;


Thence along the southwestern boundary of Highway No. 322 S 38° 09" 19" E, a distance of 529.08 feet to Nova Scotia Coordinate Monument situate on the southwestern boundary of Highway No. 322;


Thence along the southwestern boundary of Highway No. 322 S 50° 26' 29" E, a distance of 315.66 feet to the point of beginning.


A tract of land having an area of 10 acres more or less.
