Little Dyke Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 75-1187 (October 21, 1975), N.S. Reg. 157/75


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 22nd day of September, A.D., 1975, and pursuant to subsection (1) of Section 5 of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Little Dyke Beach, in the County of Colchester, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-62, and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.

 

 

Schedule “A”

 

All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Little Dyke Beach, in the County of Colchester, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on Plan No. E-7-62 filed in the Crown Land Records Office, Halifax and being more particularly described as follows:

 

Commencing at an iron post situate at the corner of a fence and also being 23 feet more or less in a northeasterly direction from the center of a public road to Little Dyke Beach (so-called);

 

From thence (by astronomic bearings) S 68° 17' 36" E, 940.57 feet to an iron post, being and intended to [be] the “place of beginning”;

 

Thence N 21° 42' 24" E, 50 feet to a point;

 

Thence in a northwesterly direction parallel to and 100 feet from the mean high watermark of Cobequid Bay to an iron post situate N 69° 23' 59" W, 2,357.18 feet from the place of commencement;

 

Thence S 23° 18' 00" W, 100 feet to a point situate on the mean high watermark of Cobequid Bay;

 

Thence in a southeasterly direction following the mean high watermark of Cobequid Bay to a point;

 

Thence N 21° 42' 24" E, 50 feet to the place of beginning.
