Registry of Motor Vehicles - Personalized Vehicle Plates Refund Information
The refund amount shall be based on the number of full unused months
remaining in the registration period, less an administration fee of $13.17
+ $1.98 HST.
No refund will be made where the applicant is entitled to less than $3.00.
The annual retention fee of $30.05 is non-refundable.
Procedure For Refund:
Plates/Stickers/Permit accompanied by a refund application may
be deposited at any of the Registry of Motor Vehicle offices throughout the province of Nova Scotia.
Personalized Plates are held at the Registry until the
registration period is expired. After that date, the personalized
plate is returned to the registered owner.
Refund cheques are issued by the Department of Finance.
Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for processing and mailing.
