Processor Licence

Who Needs This Licence?
A Processor Licence permits a licensee to process any dairy product approved by the Natural Products Marketing Council under the Terms and Conditions of that Processor Licence.

Application Forms & Process:

An application for a Processor Licence must be made to the Natural Products Marketing Council. An application form is available from the Natural Products Marketing Council on request.

If approved by the Natural Products Marketing Council, a Processor Licence will be issued to the licensee.

Waiting Period:

The waiting period is contingent on an application and all information being submitted as required, the completion of any approval process requirements as provided in the regulations under the Dairy Industry Act, as well as the meeting schedule of the Natural Products Marketing Council.

Expiry & Renewal:

Processor Licences are issued on a 3 year schedule. Any new Processor Licence will expire on a date determined by the Natural Products Marketing Council and is renewable in 3 year periods following that date.

Price:  (No tax is charged)

A fee of $75 must be submitted with an application for a Processor Licence, with a cheque made payable to Natural Products Marketing Council.

Related Requirements:
 

Issuance of a Processor Licence is contingent on the applicant meeting the food safety inspection requirements of the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture, if provincially registered, or the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, if federally registered.
