Anyone who wants to hunt with a crossbow in Nova Scotia.
One must be 12 years of age or older to get this certification.

This course is only offered online. Go to: novascotia.ca/natr/hunt/crossbow-training.asp to take the course. To get more information on hunting with crossbows in Nova Scotia please visit: novascotia.ca/natr/hunt/crossbows.asp. The applicant must be 12 years of age or older.
In addition to passing the online crossbow course, individuals must have successfully completed the Bow Hunter Education Course, or be Hunter Trained or Hunter Grandfathered to be qualified to hunt with a crossbow
If all the requirements are met, and the application is approved, you will receive a Wildlife Resources Cardby mail which indicates that you have Crossbow Hunting Certification. If you already have a valid Wildlife Resources Card, you will receive a new copy of your card by mail which indicates that you now have Crossbow Hunting Certification.

Expiry and Renewal: |

The Wildlife Resources Card, displaying your Crossbow Certification is valid for five (5) years, and can be renewed.

Additional Information: |
| To hunt with a crossbow in Nova Scotia you must :
- have held a valid firearm cerification and a valid bow cerification in the province prior to September 1, 2012
- produce proof satisfactory to the Department that you have been certified to hunt with a crossbow in another jurisdiction
- hold a certification to hunt with a firearm or bow and complete a crossbow hunter safety course.
