Drilling For Mineral Exploration Notification / Registration

Who Needs This Notification / Registration?
Anyone who plans to begin a drilling program in Nova Scotia for mineral exploration must notify the province. The applicant must provide the Registrar, Mineral and Petroleum Titles, N.S. Department of Natural Resources, with a tabulation of drillhole data, including grid references, azimuths, dip, total depths, dates of start-up and completion of drilling.

Also, the drillhole location must be provided as it may be cross-referenced to a claim or licenced boundaries.

Expiry & Renewal:
This notification is valid until the date the drilling is finished. It is not renewable.

  2. Mineral Exploration: Special Licence, N.S. Department of Natural Resources

  3. All work conducted persuant to this Notification must be done in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Environment Act, and all other pertinent legislation.
