Renew a co-operative registration with Registry of Joint Stock Companies

Co-operatives need to renew their registration, file financial statements and pay a renewal fee each year they continue to operate. They need to renew within 5 months of their fiscal year-end. For example, if your fiscal year-end is in February, then you renew each July.

Use the Renew My Registration Form to renew the registration of your co-operative each year it continues to operate.

Renewal notice

Registry of Joint Stock Companies sends you a renewal notice by mail or email a month before the renewal date. It’s your responsibility to renew on time.

Along with your renewal notice, you need to submit the following to Registry of Joint Stock Companies:

  • renewal fee
  • copy of the co-operative’s financial statements from the last fiscal year

Public record

Information you file with Registry of Joint Stock Companies is available to the public. Financial information you file with Registry of Joint Stock Companies is only available to the public in aggregate in the Co-operatives Financial and Operating Summary Annual Report.

How long it takes

It should take 1 to 2 weeks to update your records. It can take longer if more information is needed or if your form hasn’t been filled in correctly.
