National Commuter Challenge

Join in this friendly competition between Canadian communities to encourage the use of sustainable modes of transportation to and from work. For more information please visit the Commuter Challenge website. Nova Scotia Environment will be taking part in the workplace commuter challenge.
Downtown Halifax Business Commission’s 17th Annual "Clean Sweep" Event
Wednesday June 5th, 2013
Grand Parade Square, Downtown Halifax.
Nova Scotia Environment will be entering a team to compete with other downtown businesses to clean up the city’s downtown core. Registered teams will gather in Grand Parade and then disperse to clean their designated Downtown areas. After the cleanup, they will meet back in Grand Parade for lunch, awards and prize draws. Oceans Day Celebration
Thursday June 6th, 2013, On Thursday, June 6, 2013 join leaders and visionaries in oceans industry, along with ocean researchers, government, students and others wanting to explore a career in the oceans sector for the Oceans Career Fair at the Cunard Centre from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information visit the Oceans Week 2013 website.
Join Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic along with other federal and provincial departments, environmental organizations, universities and industry at a public event to celebrate World Oceans Day 2012! Enjoy interactive and educational exhibits and displays, a live touch tank, demonstrations and more. This event will take place rain or shine (rain location is inside the Small Crafts Room of the museum). Nova Scotia Environment will have a booth at this event. Event is free of charge.
