Liverpool Wind Farm Project

Description

This is to advise that on September 8, 2015, Liverpool Wind Energy Storage Project Inc. registered the Liverpool Wind Farm Project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to develop two wind turbines, and to generate up to 4.7 Megawatt of power on crown lands. The undertaking is located approximately 4 kilometers northwest of Brooklyn, Queens County. The project is scheduled to commence in March 2016 with operation expected in October 2016.

Minister's Decision

On October 28, 2015 the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:30k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.
