Lingan Wind Farm Expansion (Lingan III)

Description

This is to advise that on June 22, 2012, SP Development Limited Partnership, a subsidiary of Sprott Power Corp registered the Expansion of Lingan Wind Farm project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to construct, own and operate a 9.2 MW expansion of the existing Lingan Wind Farm located between New Waterford and Lingan, Cape Breton County, Nova Scotia. Pending approval to proceed, anticipated construction commencement is 2012 with commissioning anticipated in winter 2013.

Minister's Decision

On August 13, 2012, the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:131k) concerning this review.

The Minister has determined that the registration information is insufficient to make a decision on the project, and additional information is required in accordance with clause 13(1)a of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.
