Hillside Boularderie Wind Farm

Description

This is to advise that on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, Natural Forces Wind Inc. registered the Hillside Boularderie Wind Farm for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to develop the 4.0 megawatt community owned Hillside Boularderie Wind Farm located in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality in Hillside Boularderie and Groves Point community. The project is approximately 8 km northwest of North Sydney, NS. The project will involve the installation of two utility scale wind turbines. Construction is anticipated to begin summer 2013, with commissioning occurring summer 2014.

Minister's Decision

On June 20, 2013, the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:367k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.
