Liquid Asphalt Storage Facility

Description

This is to advise that General Liquids Canada Ltd. proposed asphalt storage and transhipment terminal located at or near, Rocky Lake Drive, Bedford, Nova Scotia, will be registered for environmental assessment on April 8, 2010, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to provide additional storage capacity of liquid asphalt cement for road construction contractors. This Terminal will initially provide over 25,000 tonnes of asphalt cement storage with provision for future growth as demand increases.

Minister's Decision

On May 28, 2010 the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:112k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.
