C@P Site Acceptable Use Policy

Zero-Tolerance Use Policy

The following rules apply to use of this C@P Site — If you donít follow them, you will be asked to leave the building
  • You must register and enter your name legibly on the C@P Sign-Up Sheet
  • You must respect time limits on C@P computers — 30 minutes when others are waiting
  • You must act in a manner that shows respect for other people and property
  • Unruly, offensive, threatening, violent or illegal behaviour will not be tolerated
  • The Public Archives is a non-smoking building
  • No food or beverages are allowed at C@P computers
  • Keep your headset volume LOW — or you will be asked to turn it down
  • No viewing or printing offensive and/or pornographic material
  • No placing Internet icons or images on the desktop or computer screen
  • No downloading and storing material to the hard drive
  • No software allowed, other than what is provided by the C@P Site
  • No loitering in the lobby or around the building entrance
  • Children 10 years and under must be accompanied by an adult
If you fail to comply with any of the above rules, you will be asked to leave the building and will not be able to return for one month. If you refuse to leave, Halifax Regional Police will be called to remove you, and you will be banned permanently from the Public Archives Building.
