Port Hood Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 76-1152 (October 5, 1976), N.S. Reg. 147/76


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 14th day of September, A.D., 1976, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Port Hood Beach, in the County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-74, marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.


Schedule “A”


All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Port Hood Beach, in the County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-74, attached hereto and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at an iron post number eight situate six inches from a fence post marking the southwest corner of a cemetery lot and the northwest corner of land now or formerly owned by Boulden Murphy;


From thence (by astronomic bearings) south sixty-eight degrees zero minutes wests a distance of three thousand three hundred ninety feet to a point situate in the waters of Northumberland Strait;


Thence south eighteen degrees forty-four minutes four seconds easts a distance of two thousand two hundred and thirty-five decimal six eight feet to a point situate in the waters of Northumberland Strait;


Thence north sixty-eight degrees zero minutes east, a distance of two thousand eight hundred fifty feet to a wooden post number six;


Thence north one degree twenty-four minutes five seconds east, a distance of three hundred fifty decimal seven six feet to a wooden post number seven;


Thence north six degrees thirty-two minutes forty-nine seconds west, a distance of one thousand nine hundred eighty-one decimal seven nine feet to the place of beginning.


Excepting and reserving from the above described area of land all the portion thereof lying seaward from the mean high watermark.
