Livingston Cove Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 78-166 (February 21, 1978), N.S. Reg. 42/78


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 2nd day of February, A.D., 1978, and pursuant to the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, Chapter 6, Section 5(1) is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Livingston Cove Beach, in the County of Antigonish, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-90, marked Schedule “B”, and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.



Schedule “A”


Beginning at iron post No. 2 as shown on Plan E-7-90 on file in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, said iron post being placed approximately one hundred feet inland from the mean high waterline of Northumberland Strait and approximately on the line of vegetation, and being on a grid bearing of north seven degrees forty-two minutes twenty-nine seconds east five thousand four hundred seven decimal sixty-seven feet from Nova Scotia Control Monument 11446 having grid co-ordinates (N 16, 665, 290.77, E 876, 617.63) based on the Nova Scotia 3° Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 4, Central Meridian 61° 30' West Longitude;


From thence (by grid bearings) north sixty-seven degrees fifty minutes thirty-four seconds west one hundred feet, more or less, to a point on the mean high watermark of Northumberland Strait as shown on said Plan E-7-90;


Thence generally in a southerly direction along the mean high watermark of the Northumberland Strait, five thousand seven hundred sixty feet, more or less, to a point as shown on said Plan E-7-90;


Thence south sixty-seven degrees fifty-minutes thirty-four seconds east one hundred feet, more or less, to a point as shown on said Plan E-7-90;


Thence northerly along the line of vegetation to the place of beginning.
