October 01, 2014US S&P/CASE-SHILLER HOME PRICE INDICES, JULY 2014 Data through July 2014, released today by S&P Dow Jones Indices for its S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices, the leading measure of U.S. home prices, showed that the Composite 10-City and Composite 20-City indicators both decreased by 0.5 percent on a month to month comparison (seasonally adjusted). Increases in US home prices have slowed over the past six months and have been in decline since May.
On a year-over-year basis the 10-City and 20-City Composites both recorded 6.7 percent gains. On a city by city basis, Las Vegas showed the highest year-over-year increase (+12.8%), followed by Miami (+11.0%). While continuing to show positive year over year gains, Cleveland showed the smallest price increase over July 2013 at 0.9 percent.
