September 29, 2014US PERSONAL INCOME AND OUTLAY, AUGUST 2014 US personal income increased in August by 0.3 percent ($47.3 billion), and disposable personal income increased $35.2 billion. Over the first seven months of 2014, the monthly increase has averaged 0.5 percent. Consumer expenditures increased by 0.5 percent ($57.5 billion). Personal savings continue to rise and now stand at 5.4 per cent of disposable income.
