September 26, 2014JAPAN CPI, AUGUST 2014 In Japan August 2014, the all item consumer price index (2010=100) increased 0.2 per cent over July 2014 to 103.6 and increased 3.3 per cent over the year. All 10 sub-index increased year-over-year as a consumption tax increase is only part of the current year prices. Prices were up for the food index by 4.9 per cent and the fuel, light and water charges index by 6.4 per cent compared to August 2013. The annual change in the index for CPI-all items, less food (less alcoholic beverages) and energy was up 2.3 per cent.
