August 19, 2014US CONSUMER PRICE INDEX JULY 2014 The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.1 per cent in July 2014 on a seasonally adjusted basis. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 2.0 per cent before seasonal adjustment. The energy index fell for the first time since March, decreasing 0.3 per cent over the past month. All major energy components (gasoline, fuel oil, electricity, utility gas service) fell in July. The food index rose 0.4 per cent in July.
The All items less food and energy index increased 0.1 per cent from June 2014, and increased 1.9 per cent over the last 12 months.
