July 25, 2014UK GDP, 2014Q2 The UK economy matched its Q1 GDP growth of 0.8 per cent according to preliminary data released today by the UK Office for National Statistics. This would yield an annualized pace of growth of 3.2 per cent.
In the second quarter of 2014, the services sector was the main engine of growth, rising by 1.0 per cent compared with 2014Q1. The smaller production sector also contributed to growth with a 0.4 per cent gain. Growth in these larger sectors was more than sufficient to offset declines of 0.5 per cent in construction and 0.2 per cent in agriculture.
