EU AND EURO AREA GDP, Q2 2017 [FLASH]

Real GDP rose by 2.5 per cent (seasonally adjusted annualized rate) in the euro area (EA19) and 2.6 per cent in the European Union (EU28) during the second quarter of 2017, compared with the previous quarter, according to estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Last quarter, the EA19 GDP rose by 2.0 per cent and the EU28 GDP was up 2.0 per cent on an annualized basis.


Comparing Q2 2017 with Q2 2016, seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 2.2 per cent in the euro area and by 2.3 per cent in the EU28, after gains of 1.9 per cent and 2.1 per cent, respectively, in the previous quarter.
