CONSUMER PRICE INDEX AUGUST 2016

NOVA SCOTIA
In Nova Scotia August 2016, the consumer price index (2002=100) remained unchanged from July 2016 at 131.2 and increased 0.9% over August 2015.

The CPI, excluding food and energy, decreased 0.2% from July 2016 to 123.5, and increased 2.1% over August 2015.

CANADA
In Canada August 2016, the consumer price index (2002=100) decreased 0.2% from July 2016 to 128.7 and increased 1.1% over August 2015.

Core CPI remained unchanged from July 2016 at 128.6 and increased 1.8% over August 2015. The CPI, excluding food and energy, remained unchanged from July 2016 at 123.8, and increased 1.9% over August 2015.

HALIFAX
In Halifax August 2016, the consumer price index (2002=100) remained unchanged from July 2016 at 130.1 and increased 1.0% over August 2015.
