In August 2015, Japan reported a current account surplus of ¥1590.1 billion (all figures seasonally adjusted). The trade deficit declined by ¥166.9 to-¥120.9 billion as there was a smaller deficit in goods trade and net service trade was in surplus. Improvements in the primary income account surplus to ¥1881.8 billion offset a wider secondary income account deficit.
