October 23, 2014UK RETAIL SALES, SEPTEMBER 2014 The UK Office of National Statistics reports that in September 2014 retail sales (volumes based - seasonally adjusted) quantity decreased 0.3 per cent over August 2014 and increased 2.7 per cent over September 2013. Downward pressures on sales came from textile, clothing and footwear sales (unseasonably warm weather may have prevented some shopping for warm outerwear. according to sources).
The amount spent (value) decreased 0.6 per cent compared to August 2014 but was 1.3 per cent higher than in August 2013.
