CONSUMER PRICE INDEX FEBRUARY 2012

NOVA SCOTIA
In Nova Scotia February 2012, the consumer price index (2002=100) increased 0.5% from January 2012 to 124.3 and increased 2.8% over February 2011.

The CPI, excluding food and energy, increased 0.4% from January 2012 to 114.3, and increased 1.1% over February 2011.

CANADA
In Canada February 2012, the consumer price index (2002=100) increased 0.4% from January 2012 to 121.2 and increased 2.6% over February 2011.

Core CPI increased 0.4% from January 2012 to 118.9, and increased 2.3% over February 2011. The CPI, excluding food and energy, increased 0.3% over January 2012 to 115.6, and increased 1.7% over February 2011.

HALIFAX
In Halifax February 2012, the consumer price index (2002=100) increased 0.5% from January 2012 to 123.0 and increased 2.5% over February 2011.

Quebec, Ontario and the Atlantic provinces recorded year-over-year price gains at or above that of the Canada all-items CPI (+2.6%), while increases in the Western provinces were.hile increases in the Western provinces were lower."
